Job Summary
Promote and provide excellent patient care by preventing, recognizing, evaluating, triaging, rehabilitating, and reconditioning athletic injuries. Develop rehabilitation and treatment regimens with physicians and physical therapists while communicating patient conditions and protocols to coaches and parents. Perform DME brace fitting, educate patients on proper donning and doffing, and ensure proper referral for diagnostic procedures and injury tracking. Maintain patient documentation in the electronic medical record, return voicemail and emails timely, and participate in IBJI-sponsored clinical meetings and community outreach. Work in a fast-paced orthopedic practice requiring a Bachelor's or Master's degree, BOC certification, and Illinois licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a CAATE-accredited program (prior to 2022) or Master's degree in Athletic Training
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
- Hold or eligible for Illinois Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in good standing
- CPR/AED certification required
- Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Able to function as a team leader
- Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds
- Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing
- Ability to be stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes
- Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day
- Outreach ATCs are expected to provide medical coverage at games, practices and/or tournaments. These events will be scheduled with the Athletic Training Regional Manager and may include weekend and/or evening events
Desired Qualifications
- Strong rehabilitation skill set preferred
- Additional manual therapy or sports performance background preferred, but not required
- Experience working in a physician or physical therapy clinic preferred, but not required
