Job Summary
Athletic Trainer responsible for comprehensive athletic health care for student-athletes: oversee the athletic training room, provide immediate and ongoing care for injuries/illnesses, assess readiness for participation, develop rehabilitation and return-to-play programs with physicians, apply preventative measures (taping/bracing), maintain compliant documentation, communicate with coaches/administration/families, serve as primary medical responder at home games and events, monitor facility safety, coordinate concussion testing and return-to-play protocols, educate athletes on injury prevention and recovery, collaborate with external organizations to enhance care, manage inventory and budgeting for supplies, and participate in meetings and events; requires BOC certification, MA licensure, CPR/AED, CAATE degree, and continued certification/education.
Required Qualifications
- Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
- Massachusetts State Licensure as an Athletic Trainer (or eligibility for licensure by start date)
- Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- Bachelors or Masters Degree from a CAATE accredited program
- Experience in high school or collegiate athletic settings preferred
- Familiarity with MIAA rules and regulations per Sports Medicine Coverage and Athletic procedures
