Job Summary
Provide athletic training coverage for home and away contests, practices, and selected events. Evaluate, treat, and manage athletic injuries and illnesses while developing injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-play programs. Maintain accurate medical records, coordinate emergency action plans, and communicate with physicians, parents, coaches, and administrators regarding athlete health. Educate student-athletes and coaches on injury prevention, hydration, nutrition, and wellness. Assist with pre-participation physicals, attend coaches' meetings, and ensure compliance with state and school guidelines. Monitor medical equipment and supplies. Requires BOC certification, North Carolina licensure, and ability to work evenings and weekends. Travel with Football and Basketball teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field
- Current certification by the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in North Carolina
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during athletic seasons
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to respond quickly during athletic emergencies
- Travel with the Football and Basketball team
- Reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with high school or collegiate athletics preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with multiple sports
- Knowledge of concussion management protocols
- Familiarity with electronic medical documentation systems
