Job Summary
Athletic Therapist/Orthopedic Therapist sought for Pan Am Clinic within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. Term position servicing the Minor Injury Clinic with in-person duties. Responsibilities include applying plaster and fiberglass casts under physician direction, removing/re-fitting casts, making splints, applying bandages and slings, sutures/staples/pins removal as directed, applying braces and crutches instruction, wound care and dressing changes, and providing biomechanical assessment and education to patients. Collaborates with the medical team to tailor rehabilitation plans, conveys prevention and reconditioning information, and supports infection-control standards. Requires strong patient rapport, ability to supervise students, and multidisciplinary teamwork. Qualifications include CATA certification, CSOT certification or current pursuit, CPR, and current criminal and child/adult abuse registry checks. Must be able to stand/walk for long periods and perform heavy lifting; term position may end earlier per collective agreement. In-person schedule includes days, evenings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Certified with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA)
- Member in good standing with the Manitoba Athletic Therapists Association (preferred)
- Registered member of the Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologists – Certified or pursuing certification
- Current CPR Certificate
- Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search)
- Child Abuse Registry Check
- Adult Abuse Registry Check
