Job Summary
Oversee and coordinate the school's interscholastic athletics program for approximately 20 teams and 20 coaches, ensuring all programs operate safely, effectively, and in alignment with school policies, league requirements, and Maine Principals' Association regulations. Build positive relationships with students, families, coaches, school staff, and community members while leading the development of student-athletes. This stipend position requires a strong communicator to manage the Grades 6–12 athletic landscape at Buckfield Junior/Senior High School.
Required Qualifications
- Grades 6–12 Athletic Director experience
- Leadership for approximately 20 athletic teams and 20 coaches
- Ensuring athletic programs operate safely
- Ensuring athletic programs operate effectively
- Ensuring athletic programs operate in alignment with school policies
- Ensuring athletic programs operate in alignment with league requirements
- Ensuring athletic programs operate in alignment with Maine Principals' Association (MPA) regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students
- Ability to build positive relationships with families
- Ability to build positive relationships with coaches
- Ability to build positive relationships with school staff
- Ability to build positive relationships with community members
- Understanding of the role athletics plays in developing student-athletes
