Job Summary
Athletic Director and Director of Physical Education & Health leadership role overseeing interscholastic athletics, PE/Health education curriculum, facilities, and program operations district-wide. Responsibilities include directing and evaluating athletic programs at modified to varsity levels, aligning curricula with NYS standards, supervising coaches and PE/Health staff, ensuring safety and compliance (including concussion management, CPR/AED), managing pool operations and facilities, coordinating event schedules and external user groups, budgeting for athletics/PE/Health, and serving as primary communications liaison with families and the community. Requires NYS certification in Physical Education and SDA or SBL certification (or eligibility), along with experience in administration, coaching, and program oversight.
Required Qualifications
- New York State certification in Physical Education
- New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or School Building Leader (SBL) certification, or eligibility to obtain certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of interscholastic athletics, PE/Health instruction, facility management, and school operations
- Experience coaching and/or administering secondary school athletic and physical education programs
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
