Job Summary
Athletic Director at Good Shepherd responsible for overseeing all school athletics, including facilities and equipment management (50%), program communication (30%), team selection (10%), and coach recruitment/management (10%). Lead efforts for over 100 student athletes across multiple sports (Cross Country, Flag Football, Basketball, Futsal, Baseball, Volleyball), coordinate home games and tournaments, manage budgets and expenses with the Principal, oversee uniform distribution and inventory, and promote the athletics program to families and the community. Ensure compliance with Archdiocesan policy for work with minors, recruit and supervise volunteer coaches, and maintain strong relationships with student athletes, families, and coaches while advancing the school’s mission and holistic development of student athletes through sport.
Required Qualifications
- Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
- A love for children of all ages and commitment to their academic, spiritual, moral, social, and physical growth and development
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Preferred: 2+ years’ experience working closely with the life of a Catholic school
- Preferred: Experience in an Athletic Director role and/or work with CSAL
