Job Summary
Directs and manages a high school athletic program under the Principal and Division Director of Athletics, including budgeting, developing eligibility lists for VHSL, creating coaches’ handbooks, coordinating coaching orientation, scheduling preseason meetings, organizing and distributing materials, coordinating home events and staffing, arranging transportation and athletic physicals, maintaining equipment and uniforms, serving as liaison with district/state organizations and Parent/Booster groups, and ensuring compliance with Title IX and VHSL regulations; requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills to collaborate with administrators, coaches, parents, students, and the community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years' experience coaching VHSL sport
- Knowledge of VHSL Regulations
- Working knowledge of Title IX and its applicability to public school athletics
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including ability to publish and make presentations to community groups
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, students, and general public
