Job Summary
Implement athletic policies, interpret state and league regulations, and supervise a staff of assistant coaches to ensure program success. Mentor student athletes by promoting character traits, monitoring grades and conduct, and enforcing discipline while safeguarding participants during practices and travel. Manage equipment inventory, coordinate facility maintenance, and assist in budgeting for the next season. Organize parent meetings, present media updates, and recruit athletes to promote the sport within the community.
Required Qualifications
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
- Ability to continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field
- Ability to serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions
- Thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Plainwell Community Schools' Board of Education
- Knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations
- Understanding of the proper administrative line of command
