Job Summary
Athletic Coach - Head Boys Soccer responsible for administering all aspects of soccer within the District and school Athletic Department, ensuring compliance with FHSAA and NFHS rules, overseeing conditioning, health forms and physician clearances, organizing practices/games, monitoring academic progress, coordinating fundraising, and maintaining athlete safety and development under Title IX guidelines. Requires high school diploma, coaching certifications (First Aid, CPR, NFHS concussion/AED), and prior coaching experience; role emphasizes leadership, organization, and student-athlete development in a middle/high school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience: Previous experience preferred as an athletic coach or in the coaching arena
- Certifications & Licenses: Completion of required athletic coaching courses to include First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussion in Sports (NFHS courses), AED training, Florida Department of Education Certificate (Athletic Coaching)
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the sport and the strategies associated with the sport
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong creative problem solving skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to conduct staff meetings and be in charge of all tryouts, practices, team meetings, and athletic contests for the sport
- Ability to be a role model for all student-athletes by conducting your behavior in a professional manner at all times
- Ability to motivate student-athletes to produce their best effort and results
