Job Summary
Conduct sports activity supervision, training, and coaching for K-12 secondary school age children, delivering core movement and sport-specific skills. Assist the Head Coach in setting team rules, coordinating try-outs, managing practice schedules, and overseeing athlete registration and equipment issuance. Guide student athletes in making appropriate decisions regarding future participation while monitoring delivery impact and promoting healthy lifestyles. Manage multiple supervision functions including athletes, equipment, and staff with a focus on safety, injury prevention, and best training procedures. Requires regular travel for off-site competitions and work in variable environments including offices, school grounds, and stadiums, involving 70% outdoor physical effort and moderate lifting.
Required Qualifications
- State of Georgia Teaching Certificate T-4 to T-7
- Ability to manage projects and duties with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Analytical mindset
- Emphasis on safety precautions
- Awareness of best training procedures and injury preventative actions
- Requires regular, frequent contact with internal and external personnel
- Decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Responsibility for multiple functions of supervision (athletes, equipment and staff as needed)
- High-level accountability for effective operation and results
- Requires frequent travel for off-site competition/training locations
