Job Summary
Instruct and coach students in the sport indicated; help arrange playing schedules; perform/assist coaching responsibilities; attend required meetings and trainings; prioritize safety and ethical standards; demonstrate knowledge of coaching theory, adolescent psychology, CIF policies, and school athletic policies; communicate effectively with parents/guardians and staff; leverage prior coaching experience or coursework to develop players and foster teamwork and positive relationships with the school and community.
Required Qualifications
- Injury prevention/treatment certifications (CPR, First Aid, EMT, Sports Injury Certificate)
- Knowledge of CIF policies related to athletics
- Fundamentals of coaching training (high school) or Coaching Essentials (middle school)
- Knowledge of adolescent psychology related to sports participation
- Ability to maintain safety standards in coaching contexts
- Ability to communicate with parents/guardians and school staff
- Evidence of coaching knowledge and techniques in the sport
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of high school athletics
- Demonstrated ethical standards in sportsmanship and student relationships
- Evidence of coaching experience or coursework in the sport
- Knowledge of school policies and CIF athletics policies
- Ability to instill teamwork, commitment and discipline in players
- Willingness to attend required meetings and trainings
- Current CA teaching credential preferred (or current certificated employee status)
