Job Summary
Athletic Coach responsible for leading the girls' cheerleading program for the 2026-2027 season at Capital Preparatory Schools. Establishes goals and values for the athletics program, provides regular practice sessions in and out of the season, motivates student-athletes to perform at maximum levels, oversees conditioning and training, applies sound teaching techniques in games and practices, enforces athletic policies, and conducts performance evaluations for assistant coaches. Oversees team travel standards and the care of student-athlete team members, and mentors/supervises assistant coaches. Requires a High School degree, CT coaching certification, CPR/AED/First Aid certification, a valid CT Driver’s License (and ability to obtain a passenger endorsement), and excellent communication skills. Must be able to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends and is expected to engage in fundraising efforts. Salary is a coaching stipend commensurate with experience, ranging from $2,000 to $8,000 per year.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree required
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s License or able to obtain; able to obtain passenger endorsement on license
- Valid CT coaching certification
- CPR/AED/first aid certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Coaching and/or participation at high school level preferred
- Ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Willingness to fundraise
- Ability to interact with all levels of the school community.
