Job Summary
Plan and conduct cross country practices for 7th and 8th graders, teaching sport-specific fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Supervise and manage student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities while prioritizing safety and enforcing injury prevention protocols. Prepare teams for competitions and coach during games with professionalism, promoting sportsmanship and positive character. Assist with program administration, including equipment, records, and required documentation, while communicating effectively with students, parents, administrators, and athletic staff. Comply with all school, district, and NFHS rules regarding bullying, hazing, concussion, and heat illness prevention.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
- DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
- NFHS Course Certificate: Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors
- NFHS Course Certificate: Concussion in Sports
- NFHS Course Certificate: First Aid, Health and Safety
- NFHS Course Certificate: Fundamentals of Coaching
- NFHS Course Certificate: Heat Illness Prevention
- Additional course certifications as required by sport type
- Adhere to the dress code appropriate to the site and job
- Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting
- The job involves finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability
- Employees may be exposed to travel, odors, dust, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and loud noises
- The work may require lifting or exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently
