Job Summary
Instruct and coach students in football; help arrange playing schedules; perform coaching responsibilities and attend required meetings/trainings; ensure safety and compliance with high school athletics policies; demonstrate knowledge of coaching theory, adolescent psychology, and CIF regulations; maintain high standards of safety, ethics, and communication with parents, guardians, and school staff; leverage prior coaching experience and coursework to develop student-athletes and foster teamwork and discipline.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CPR card
- Valid First Aid card OR college-level course in care/prevention of athletic injuries OR EMT I or II card OR Sports Injury Certificate
- Knowledge of coaching theory and techniques in the sport
- Knowledge of rules/regulations of high school athletics
- Knowledge of adolescent psychology as it relates to sports participation
- Ability to maintain safety in practices and contests
- Ethical standards in sportsmanship and relationships with students
- Communication with parents/guardians and school staff regarding problems or emergencies
- Knowledge of CIF policies related to athletics
- Experience coaching at high school level or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to instill teamwork, commitment and discipline
