Job Summary
Athletic Coach for boys' volleyball at Southern High; leads student-athletes through sport-specific coaching during the season, enforces athletic policies, ensures safe practices, supports student academic eligibility, coordinates practice and game logistics, and collaborates with the Athletic Director and Principal. Responsibilities include teaching techniques and sportsmanship, maintaining equipment and facilities, organizing clinics and staff meetings, supervising assistants, managing transportation and tournament logistics, and communicating with parents and school staff to support student-athlete success. Requires PE/sport training, a valid NC driver’s license, and strong knowledge of policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements; preferred qualifications include an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field and coaching experience at the middle or high school level, plus NC Teacher certification in Physical Education.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Training in Physical Education or particular sport
- Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
