Job Summary
Prioritize athletics as a supplemental program to support the academic mission by instructing athletes in fundamentals, strategy, and physical conditioning. Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling contests and planning regular practice sessions while maintaining attendance and insurance records. Enforce code of conduct standards, establish academic eligibility criteria, and oversee safety conditions during all student athlete activities. Recommend equipment purchases and perform other related tasks as assigned by district administrators. This part-time temporary role requires previous coaching experience, a teaching certificate, and knowledge of South Carolina High School League rules.
Required Qualifications
- Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Knowledge and/or background in the assigned sport
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
- Valid drivers license
- Must have knowledge of South Carolina High School League rules and eligibility
- Must be cooperative, service-oriented, and able to work effectively with frequent interruptions
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have the ability to exercise good judgment, organize tasks, follow written and verbal directions, and communicate effectively
- Must have the physical and mental ability to fulfill the essential functions of the above position with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
Desired Qualifications
- Teaching certificate and experience preferred
