Job Summary
Athletic Coach for Boys Basketball at Capital Preparatory Schools. Responsibilities include enforcing athletic program policies, setting program goals aligned with the department’s mission, leading regular in-season and out-of-season practices, motivating student-athletes to perform at their best, coordinating conditioning and training with the coaching staff, applying sound teaching techniques in game and practice preparation, following Athletics Policies and Procedures Manual, enforcing travel standards, overseeing training and care of student-athlete team members, supervising and guiding assistant coaches, and conducting performance evaluations for staff. Requires high school degree, CT driver’s license, CT coaching certification, CPR/AED/First Aid certification, strong verbal and written communication, willingness to fundraise, and ability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends; compensation is an athletic coaching stipend tied to experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree required
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s License required or able to obtain; able to obtain passenger endorsement on license and a driving record
- Valid CT coaching certification
- CPR/AED/first aid certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Coaching and /or participation at high school level preferred
- Ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Willingness to fundraise
- Ability to interact with all levels of the school community
