ATE Field Mechanical Technician

Job Summary

Deliver fast and accurate mechanical, diagnostic, programming, and calibration services to Crash Champions locations, third-party partners, and retail customers using a company-provided vehicle. Perform diagnostics, scanning, electrical repairs, and light-to-moderate mechanical services including suspension, brakes, HVAC, dash removal, and airbag installation in accordance with OEM procedures. Diagnose and replace SRS components, conduct post-collision inspections, and execute ADAS calibrations when authorized. Own root cause resolution and electronic validation, perform module programming, and safely energize/de-energize EV and hybrid systems. Ensure all services are documented per MCP guidelines, complete test drives to verify functionality, and accurately finalize billing. Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles while staying current on training and protocols. Work flexible schedules including Saturdays to support continuous market coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of automotive mechanical experience
  • I-CAR PL3 certification
  • ASE certification
  • Strong working knowledge of light and moderate mechanical repair
  • Strong working knowledge of ADAS systems
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems
  • Strong working knowledge of diagnostics
  • Strong working knowledge of programming
  • Strong working knowledge of calibrations
  • Experience performing suspension repairs
  • Experience performing brake repairs
  • Experience performing HVAC service
  • Experience performing dash removal
  • Experience performing air bag installation
  • Experience performing post collision mechanical inspections
  • Ability to diagnose and repair SRS systems
  • Ability to perform safety related procedures per OEM standards
  • Proficiency with electrical diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, power probes, and resistors
  • Ability to perform and interpret vehicle health scans using both factory and approved non factory tools
  • Skill in reading and interpreting OEM and aftermarket service information
  • Skill in reading and interpreting repair procedures
  • Skill in reading and interpreting wiring schematics
  • Ability to program vehicle modules using factory or approved software platforms
  • EV and Hybrid high voltage certification
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Technological proficiency with platforms such as Outlook, Teams, Word, and service documentation systems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Safe driving record
  • Saturday availability on a rotating basis
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds independently
  • Ability to lift, maneuver, or position components up to 100 pounds with assistance or mechanical support
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy vehicle components using proper lifting techniques and shop equipment
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in automotive shop environments for extended periods

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to perform and interpret vehicle health scans using both factory and approved non factory tools
  • EV and Hybrid high voltage certification preferred or ability to obtain certification
