Job Summary
Monitor teacher training and individual progress for Fellows enrolled in the Arkansas Teacher Corps program while facilitating learning communities for novice teachers at partner schools. Coach educators toward greater student learning by setting a rigorous vision for equitable education, building trusting relationships with teachers and stakeholders, and observing and debriefing instruction. Facilitate workshops and whole-group learning during the seven-week Summer Institute, which requires full-time on-site attendance, and leverage coaching methods to support adult learners individually. Analyze student and teacher data to assess classroom needs, track fellow attendance and licensure requirements, and communicate progress to principals and mentor teachers. Assist Fellows with long-term goal-setting, provide targeted support plans for struggling candidates, and collaborate with the ATC team to assess programmatic gaps and identify systemic solutions. Travel across the state by automobile and work nights and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience teaching K-12 with a strong track record of student achievement
- Experience with developing, coaching, or managing adults
- Experience supporting or training novice teachers specifically
- At least three years K-12 teaching experience in public schools
- Resides or willing to reside in service area (central or eastern Arkansas)
- Knowledge and familiarity with adult learning theory
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
- Strong instruction and curricular planning skills
- Emotional resilience and conflict resolution skills
- Critical reflection and self-awareness skills
- Time management and personal organization skills
- Must be able and willing to travel across the state by automobile
- Must be available to work some nights and weekends
- Must be available for the seven-week Summer Institute for incoming Fellows which will require them to live and work on-site during portions of the summer training
- Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
