Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive assessments with immigrant families to identify needs and barriers, then facilitate connections to appropriate services. Assist asylum-seeking families in accessing public benefits like Medicaid and WIC, while orienting participants to the local healthcare system and arranging transportation for medical appointments. Provide education on the Chicago community and maintain accurate client files and reporting records. Actively participate in department meetings and program trainings. This limited-term, part-time role supports World Relief's mission of refugee and immigrant services across 100 countries.

Required Qualifications

  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
  • Valid drivers license
  • Access to reliable vehicle
  • Ability to pass MVR standards
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability/willingness to drive minivan and/or 15-passenger van

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish or Arabic preferred due to client/community needs)
  • Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and ability to work independently
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Knowledge of the immigrant experience
  • Strong mediation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow through on projects and assignments
  • Experience and/or training in working with traumatized populations or trauma informed care
  • Desire to engage the local church in partnership with our service to asylum seekers
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, problem solve, and exercise critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to advocate on behalf of clients with service providers, and governmental organizations
