Job Summary
ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) conducts patient fittings for a wearable defibrillator, traveling to hospitals, patients’ homes, and healthcare facilities. The role involves fitting and training patients, measuring garment sizes, transmitting paperwork, managing inventory, and coordinating with prescribers, caregivers, and patients. The contractor must be trained and certified as an APS, maintain confidentiality, and meet background, credentialing, driving, and HIPAA requirements. The position requires daytime, evening, and weekend availability and frequent travel in the field.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year in a paid patient care experience (not as a family caregiver)
- Clinical or engineering background which may include but is not limited to nurses, cardiac device sales representatives, clinical engineers, catheterization lab technicians, physician assistants, or ECG technicians
- Completion of background check; Florida and Ohio must complete a level 2 screening paid for by Kestra
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a good driving record
- Willingness to pay an annual DME fee which is deducted from the completed work order
- Possession and ability to pay for vendor credentialing upfront during a 90-day probationary period
- Experience in patient and/or clinician education
- Possession of NPI number (if applicable)
- Flexibility to travel in field; extensive travel may be required
- Ability to consistently work in the field in and around Brownsville, TX (disclosures for relationships and referral sources)
- Commitment to HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety online courses
