Job Summary
Assurance Senior leads and oversees federal financial statement audit engagements in a DoD environment, planning and executing audit procedures, reviewing workpapers, analyzing financial data, and ensuring adherence to professional standards. Serves as a key day-to-day liaison with client personnel, mentors junior staff, and helps manage engagement milestones and quality reviews. Requires 2–4 years of audit experience, ability to supervise staff, and a Bachelor’s or higher in Accounting/Finance; preferred CPA/CGA-type certifications and familiarity with GAAS, Yellow Book, and federal financial reporting requirements. Positions located on-site in Alexandria, VA or Washington, DC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Related Field
- 2–4 years of related experience in Financial Statement Audit
- Experience leading small audit teams or overseeing junior staff
- Active CPA license or CPA candidate actively pursuing licensure
- Experience with government or DoD clients preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions), Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
