Job Summary
Lead financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations from planning through completion, managing engagement quality, deadlines, and client communication while resolving accounting and reporting issues. Review financial statements, workpapers, and disclosures for accuracy, ensuring compliance with GAAS, SSARS, and U.S. GAAP standards. Serve as primary relationship manager for assigned clients, developing a comprehensive understanding of their business, ownership structure, and objectives to build trusted partnerships. Collaborate with tax professionals to identify intersections between financial reporting and tax planning, recognizing opportunities to provide additional advisory value across the firm's multidisciplinary services. Supervise and mentor assurance staff, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development while managing team capacity and engagement economics. Contribute to strengthening the firm's assurance methodology by improving processes, documentation, technology, and training programs. Operate remotely with flexibility to collaborate with clients and team members across Pacific, Central, and Eastern time zones.
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA license
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications necessary for CPA licensure
- 6+ years of recent public accounting experience, with significant experience in assurance
- Experience managing financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and SSARS
- Experience reviewing financial statements and related workpapers
- Demonstrated ability to research and resolve accounting and financial reporting issues
- Experience supervising and developing professional staff
- Experience managing client relationships and multiple concurrent engagements
- Working knowledge of federal and state business and individual income taxation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical accounting matters in clear, practical business terms
- Strong organizational and project-management skills
Desired Qualifications
- Current or recent public accounting Manager experience
- Experience reviewing business and individual tax returns
- Experience with agreed-upon procedures, internal-control assessments, or other special assurance engagements
- Experience improving assurance processes, methodologies, or engagement workflows
- Experience participating in recruiting, training, or practice development
- Experience working across multiple service areas within a public accounting firm
- Experience with CCH Axcess or similar professional accounting and tax technology
