Job Summary
Assurance Experienced Associate will prepare financial statements with disclosures, apply basic GAAP as necessary and document, validate, test, and assess various internal control systems. The role may also involve reviews and agreed-upon procedure engagements. Responsibilities include identifying applicable policies, laws and regulations, suggesting improvements to client internal controls, documenting operating effectiveness of internal controls, applying GAAP to client transactions, drafting basic financial statements, researching accounting topics, and contributing to engagement teams. Travel as needed; strong verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with GAAP/GAAS/SOX are important, along with ability to work independently and within a group, and to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required OR Bachelor’s degree in other focus area and CPA certification, required
- Master’s in Accountancy, preferred
- One (1) or more years of prior relevant audit experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, required
- Eligible to sit for the CPA exams upon starting employment required and actively pursuing completion of the exams, required
- CPA, preferred
