Job Summary
Assist Store Manager with supervision of store employees, merchandising presentation, deposits, stocking, cashiering, and other duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store a minimum of two days per week, scheduling employees, providing training, conducting safety meetings, ensuring policy compliance, managing merchandise flow (receiving, stocking, restocking, rotating, displays), maintaining inventory accuracy, enforcing planograms, ensuring cash control and refund/override procedures, counting tills, and depositing money. Supports in the Store Manager’s absence and emphasizes customer service leadership, cashier accountability, and loss prevention within a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
