Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General in Slaton, TX. Responsible for supporting the Store Manager in supervising store employees, merchandising and presentation of merchandise, cashiering, deposits, and store operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Duties include greeting customers, operating the cash register, scheduling and training employees, maintaining inventory, implementing and maintaining planograms, ensuring cash control and security, and assisting in store management in the Manager's absence. Emphasizes customer service leadership, problem-solving, organization, and adherence to policies. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
