Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General oversees a clean, customer-first store, assists with supervising staff, merchandise presentation, deposits, and store operations. Responsibilities include greeting customers, operating a cash register, opening/closing the store at least two days per week, scheduling and training employees, conducting safety meetings, maintaining planograms and inventory, ensuring cash control and deposits, and stepping in for the Store Manager when absent. Requires ability to drive bank deposits, read diagrams/safety rules, perform calculations, and manage merchandising processes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred
