Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General responsible for supervising store employees, ensuring customer-first service, opening and closing the store two days per week, assisting with scheduling and training, managing merchandise and planograms, maintaining accurate inventory, enforcing cash-handling procedures, authorizing refunds/overrides, counting tills, and depositing money; supports Store Manager in their absence. Requires effective interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem solving, attention to detail, ability to read diagrams and procedures, mathematical calculations, cash register and deposit activities, and the ability to drive to the bank.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
- One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
