Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General responsible for customer service leadership, supervising store employees, merchandising, inventory control, cashiering, deposits, and ensuring profitability and loss prevention. Duties include opening/closing the store, scheduling and training employees, achieving planograms, maintaining cash accuracy, authorizing refunds, and representing store leadership in the Store Manager's absence. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving ability, organization, cash handling knowledge, and retail supervisory experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience advised.
