Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General responsible for assisting the Store Manager with supervising store staff, merchandising, paperwork, deposits, and overall store profitability. Duties include customer service leadership, operating cash register, opening/closing the store, scheduling and training employees, ensuring planograms and merchandise presentation, maintaining accurate inventory, cash handling and deposit procedures, and supporting store operations in the Store Manager's absence. Requires strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills, problem solving, attention to detail, ability to perform cashiering and basic math, and the capacity to lift up to 40 pounds (up to 55 pounds occasionally). High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred; one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
