Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager leads store employees and assists the Store Manager with scheduling, training, inventory management, planograms, cash handling, and store security to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability. Responsibilities include supervising staff, operating the cash register, opening/closing the store, maintaining merchandise presentation, processing deposits, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Strong emphasis on customer service leadership, problem-solving, organization, and the ability to read and interpret safety and operating procedures. Works to maintain financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and risk management, and steps in during the Store Manager’s absence. Skills highlighted include interpersonal and written/oral communication, math and reporting, cash handling, inventory control, loss prevention, and ability to drive to banks for deposits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
