Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General in New Smyrna Beach, FL, responsible for assisting the Store Manager with supervising store employees, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashiering duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include customer service leadership, opening/closing the store, scheduling and training staff, maintaining planograms and inventory accuracy, ensuring financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash handling, and supporting store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
