Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General responsible for leading customer service, supervising store employees, cashiering and replenishment, inventory control, planograms, and merchandising presentations. Supports the Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, policy compliance, store operations, and financial controls including cash handling and deposits. Provides leadership in absence of the Store Manager and ensures profitability and customer satisfaction while safeguarding company assets.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages)
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
