Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager leads with a customer-first focus and supports the Store Manager by supervising store employees, managing merchandise presentation, handling cash-related duties, and ensuring profitability and asset protection. Responsibilities include greeting customers, operating cash register and scanner, opening/closing the store a minimum of two days per week, scheduling staff, training, safety meetings, enforcing policies, managing inventory, planograms, cash handling, deposits, and refunds/overrides, and stepping in for the Store Manager in their absence. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational focus, problem-solving ability, and knowledge of cash handling procedures; prior retail experience and some supervisory experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred
