Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager assists with supervising store employees, merchandising, and cashiering functions, and prepares deposits under the Store Manager's direction. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, scheduling staff, training, ensuring planograms and proper merchandise presentation, maintaining accurate inventory, enforcing cash-control procedures, and supporting the Store Manager in their absence. Requires customer-service leadership, strong organizational skills, and ability to handle cash and deposits, with experience in a retail environment and supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
