Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager responsible for maintaining a clean, customer-first store and supporting the Store Manager with supervising employees, merchandising, deposits, and store operations. Duties include greeting customers, operating the cash register, opening/closing the store several days per week, scheduling and training employees, managing receiving, stocking and rotating merchandise, maintaining accurate inventory, implementing planograms, ensuring cashier accountability and cash control, and assisting in store management in the manager's absence. Requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving, cash handling, and retail operations skills; high school diploma or equivalent preferred and prior retail supervisory experience encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
