Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General oversees store operations, customer service leadership, cashier accountability, scheduling, training, inventory control, and merchandising to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include greeting customers, operating cash registers, opening/closing the store, assisting with supervision of employees, ensuring planograms are followed, maintaining inventory accuracy, handling deposits, refunds and overrides, and stepping in for the Store Manager in their absence. Requires strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and math skills, with the ability to drive to bank deposits and perform cash handling duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
