Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager helps maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus under the Store Manager's direction. Responsibilities include supervising store employees, managing and presenting merchandise, completing paperwork, and preparing deposits; stocking and cashiering; and performing other duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets and reducing losses. Key duties include providing superior customer service leadership, operating cash registers, scheduling and training staff, ensuring proper merchandise placement and planograms, maintaining inventory accuracy, enforcing cash controls, authorizing refunds and overrides, counting tills, and assisting in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
