Job Summary
Asst Store Manager at Dollar General provides leadership in customer service, oversees daily store operations, and assists with supervision of employees, merchandise presentation, and financial controls. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting customers, operating cash register, opening/closing required days, scheduling and training staff, maintaining planograms, managing inventory and damages, handling deposits, and stepping in for Store Manager when absent. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to perform cash handling and basic math, capability to lift up to 55 pounds, and familiarity with safety and cash-control procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents and perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
