Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General supports a customer-first store environment under the Store Manager's direction, assisting with supervision of store employees, merchandising and display execution, cashiering and deposits, training, scheduling, safety meetings, and adherence to policies. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, managing inventory and planograms, maintaining financial integrity with cashier accountability, and serving as acting manager in the Store Manager's absence. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions
