Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General in LaGrange, IN. Responsible for supporting the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, cashiering, inventory management, deposits, and overall store profitability while protecting assets. Typical duties include opening/closing the store, scheduling and training employees, maintaining planograms, ensuring accurate inventory, cashier accountability, and deposit procedures. Emphasizes customer service leadership, operating cash register, building displays, and achieving financial/good-store practices under direction of the Store Manager. Requires strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, problem-solving, organization, and cash-handling skills. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
