Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General helps maintain a clean, customer-first store and supports the Store Manager with supervising employees, merchandise presentation, scheduling, training, safety meetings, and ensuring cash control. Responsibilities include operating the cash register, opening/closing the store, managing inventory and planograms, processing deposits, and assisting with store leadership in the manager's absence. Skills include interpersonal communication, problem solving, attention to detail, merchandising, cash handling, and basic math. Frequent walking/standing, lifting up to 40 pounds (up to 55 occasionally), and occasional travel between stores are noted; high school diploma or equivalent preferred with retail supervisory experience desired.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred
