Job Summary
Oversee Hospital Services and Distribution operations at the Carter BloodCare Tyler site, supervising training and competency assessment for Hospital Service Representatives, and managing shift operations with minimal supervision. Requires strong communication, inventory management, regulatory knowledge (AABB/FDA), and the ability to lead a diverse team on an evening shift (7pm-3am). Regular full-time attendance and adherence to safety and nondiscrimination practices are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Some College Preferred
- Six months as Hospital Service Representative (HSR) or in another regulated industry involved in handling regulated material
- One to two years’ experience in a blood bank management, Inventory Management, or Supervisory experience in a government-regulated inventory control environment
- One to two years’ experience with computer blood bank/inventory management software/programs preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills with familiarity and background in computer blood banking/inventory management/software and programs
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, customer service, complex problem solving, and critical analysis skills
- Working knowledge of applicable AABB standards and FDA regulations
- Working knowledge of area hospital locations and their expected blood inventory levels
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects
- Ability to make and act on critical decisions in unusual or stressful situations, with little or no direct supervision or guidance
