Asst Landfill Manager

Job Summary
Oversee landfill operations and 6-20 employees, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance (EPA, RCRA), and achievement of performance goals; manage budgets, labor hours, and operational metrics; coordinate landfill activities with other functions and suppliers; conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions; oversee hazardous waste management duties including training, inspections, packaging, labeling, and manifests; ensure proper records and reports; participate in planning during construction of new landfill cells and long-term planning; require DOT Hazardous Materials Awareness training with renewal every three years and hazardous waste training within six months of employment; shift is 6:00am - 8:00pm, Monday to Friday; strong verbal/written communication and leadership skills are needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years landfill experience or equivalent
- Must pass state EPA certification
- DOT Hazardous Materials Awareness, Security and Function Specific Training with renewal every three years
- Hazardous waste management training within six months of employment or assignment
- Hazardous waste inspections completed and documented within required timeframes
- Hazardous waste packaging, labeling, handling, and shipping responsibilities
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Read and speak English
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
