Associate Vice President - Public Works

Job Summary
Oversee all phases of project delivery, from planning and conceptual design through final design, permitting, and construction support. Lead, mentor, and supervise managers, project leaders, and senior technical staff while managing multiple teams and complex projects concurrently. Review and approve proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and client agreements to ensure alignment with company standards. Support business development activities, including pursuit strategy, proposal development, and client interviews. Represent the company in client, industry, and community settings and collaborate with executive leadership to assess staffing needs and resource allocation. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering discipline where applicable) from an ABET-accredited program
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state(s) required to support project work
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive engineering experience, including senior-level project leadership and people management responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor managers, project leaders, and senior technical professionals
- Proven experience managing complex projects, multiple teams, and competing priorities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, public agencies, and internal leadership
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as required to meet project and business needs
