Job Summary
Lead the Development Accounting Department by providing strategic oversight of development, construction, and pre-development activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, budget management, and audit compliance. Direct all construction accounting operations, including draw processes, funding administration, and cost certifications, while managing team members through mentorship, performance evaluation, and workload balancing. Prepare executive-level reports on work-in-progress, cash flow forecasts, and project expenditures, and optimize accounting technologies and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability. Partner with Development, Finance, and Asset Management teams to drive operational excellence and support project transitions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive construction accounting experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing and developing accounting professionals and support staff
- Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment
- Ability to travel occasionally for company-sponsored meetings, conferences, training events, and team-building functions, including overnight travel
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation
- Experience with affordable housing, multifamily development, tax credit projects, and construction financing
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and MRI
