Job Summary
Develop and generate business with major state agencies and municipalities in Massachusetts, including MassDOT, MBTA, and Massport. Lead engineering teams, manage future work budgets, and allocate resources for strategic initiatives. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, conduct audits, and negotiate contracts while overseeing project plan approvals. Mentor mid-level directors and managers, establish engineering policies, and align departmental actions with the company's business plan. Communicate planning objectives to senior management and identify growth opportunities through market research.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in engineering management or project leadership
- 20 years of experience in the civil engineering/construction management industry
- Proven experience working with Massachusetts agencies such as MassDOT, MBTA, or Massport
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, teams, and complex projects
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Experience in business development and client relationship management
- Familiarity with City of Boston, and City of Cambridge procurement processes
- Experience mentoring engineering professionals and managing cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of federal and state transportation and infrastructure regulations
