Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive examinations, diagnose illnesses and injuries, and develop treatment plans for companion animals. Operate diagnostic equipment, collect laboratory samples, and interpret results while performing surgical and dental procedures. Provide preventive care services, including wellness examinations and client education, and prescribe medications while monitoring patient responses. Counsel pet owners on healthcare decisions and maintain accurate medical records. Collaborate with veterinary technicians to ensure compliance with standards and ethical practices.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution
- Current veterinary license or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice
- Eligibility to obtain applicable controlled substance registrations as required
