Job Summary
Associate Underwriter role supporting underwriting functions and handling both new and renewal business. Responsibilities include underwriting without direct supervision, maintaining workload and policies up to binding, developing and maintaining client relationships, marketing company products, ensuring compliance with CRC procedures, reviewing policy servicing requests, endorsements, certificates, premium notices, and cancellations, reviewing inspection reports against representations, providing instruction to Underwriting Assistants and Technical Assistants, and maintaining necessary licenses. Requires a college degree or insurance experience, three years wholesale insurance experience or equivalent with a state license, and the ability to work in a team; opportunities include benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with match, paid time off, and more. Required Qualifications
- College degree or appropriate insurance experience
- Three years of wholesale insurance experience or its equivalent; current state specific license required
- Must commit a minimum of three years to the Program
- Ability to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
- Knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting and rating
- Ability to use company automation to include Windows, Delphi, Word, DocuCorp, Rackley ISO Rating Software
- Ability to develop, foster, and maintain an excellent working relationship with clients
- Ability to work in a team environment essential
- Ability to maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry
- Good written and verbal skills
